Mission Statement
Ithaca Green Building Alliance is a membership-based non-profit corporation. Our mission is to promote green building through education, networking, and community involvement. We sponsor a number of local events, such as the Green Building Fair, the National Solar Home Tour, and our annual seminar series each winter, aimed at educating homeowners about different aspects of green building and renovating methods.
Our members are primarily professionals in the green and natural building trade. Member businesses’ work encompasses everything from design and architecture to construction, roofing, and finishing. We are based in the greater Ithaca area, although some members do work around the Northeast. However, some members are not green builders by trade, but are interested in being involved in the local movement toward more sustainable building practices.
